About Dr. Olson

So glad you found this website!

Dr. Laurie Olson opened an office to serve children, parents and schools in the greater New Orleans area.  She offers therapy to children as well as support and consultation to parents.  She provides schools with individual teacher consultation and professional development.  Psychological evaluations are also available.

Dr. Olson earned her doctorate in psychology from Tulane University in 1988 and became a licensed psychologist in 1991.  She is a nationally certified and state certified school psychologist.  Throughout her career she has been concerned about the well-being of children, particularly those with adjustment problems or developmental disabilities.  She has recent, specialized training in child discipline and in services for children with autism spectrum disorder.

Dr. Olson decided to become a psychologist while spending her summers in high school as a volunteer in an orphanage in Honduras, CA.  The children were well cared for; still they suffered emotionally from the loss of their parents in the warmly family-centered culture of Honduras.  She thought that a psychologist had the most to offer those captivating, precious children so she decided to become one.

If you think Dr. Olson can be of help in your unique situation, she welcomes your call.
